U.S. Model 1903 bolt action rifle by Rock Island Arsenal, .30-06 cal., 24” R.I.A. barrel dated 7-13, black military finish, wood stock, leather sling, #235860 in overall very good condition showing the majority of its muted black military finish, very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings and very good wood stock with some old scattered mars and scratches from storage, circle P proof with an L over the proof, crisp inspector’s cartouche “CN 1913” on left side of stock above trigger and flaming bomb over N.R.A. stamping on front of floor plate; “C 88” and “P” also stamped on underside of barrel at muzzle; interesting additional markings that should be further researched as barrel is not star gauge-marked as would be indicative of an NRA National Match rifle.
