U.S. Model 1819 Hall breech loading flintlock military issue rifle dated 1834 with Harpers Ferry Arsenal markings and of 2nd configuration (refer Flayderman 9A – 249). The metal surfaces remain in good original condition with traces of originalbrown mixed in the patina on the barrel. The remainder of metal surfaces shows scattered light to moderate pitting and erosion none of which is major or unsightly. The markings on the breech block are good to very good and the stocks aregood with small losses, dings, mars, scratching and a light over coating of varnish or shellac but no evidence of sanding. There are a few minor losses of wood along the ramrod channel. The action works well and the arm is in its originalflintlock configuration with correct hammer and parts. William A.
