Blade front and three-leaf rear sights, with rack number "277" and "1859" stamped on top of the chamber, and "V/P/eagle head" on the upper left flat. Lock plate is dated "1859" behind the hammer, with an American Eagle on the Maynard primer door and "U.S./HARPERS FERRY" at the front. Smooth stock with two "U" marked barrel bands, a tulip-head ramrod, a faint cartouche on the left side, steel patch box cover and a smooth buttplate marked "US" and "A" on the heel. With a wooden tampion and a brass hilted sabre bayonet, with 21 3/4 inch blade and a black leather sheath.

Condition: Good, with a mixed brown and gray patina on the steel components, along with some handling marks and a small amount of pitting. Stock is good, with scattered dents along with some small chips at the edges. The cartouche is faint and the flats are well defined. Some minor pitting on the bayonet, with cracks and tears of the leather. Mechanically very good. Two band Harpers Ferry Rifles are highly desirable and much sought after by collectors!
