This Model 1841 Rifle was later upgraded before the Civil War, with the barrel rebored to 54 caliber, a long range rear sight, and a saber bayonet lug added to the barrel. The Harpers Ferry lock plate is dated 1851 and has the American "eagle/US" motif ahead of the hammer. Brass blade front sight and long range rear sight graduated to 1000 yards with the left side graduated 2-4. Barrel tang is also dated 1851. Left barrel side at the breech is marked "WW P" and "V/P/eagle head" markings, with "S" in front of the bolster. Brass furniture with "E.35" marked on buttplate tang. Patch box holds an extra percussion nipple. Complete with brass tipped iron ramrod.

Condition: Very good plus. The rifle has traces of a mottled brown-gray patina with the brass having an untouched aged patina. There is some very scattered mild spotting. The stock is very good with some minor pressure dents and a sliver of wood missing from the ramrod channel. Mechanically excellent.
