U.S. Engineers style sword by W.H. Horstmann & Sons of Philadelphia with brass three (3) branch guard showing star on thumb piece and single wire wrap over ray-skin grip. The blade is nicely etched with eagles, florals,Indian and tent flying flag. The blade shows some light to moderate pitting and erosion. The hilt shows a plated finish that has turned yellow-copper color and the grip is very good. No scabbard circa Mexican war toCivil war. Est.; $400- $800
