The top of the barrel has the one line Hartford address and the left barrel side is marked "45 COLT". The rear of the cylinder has the partial serial number (276) and the letters "K" and "R". A circled Rampant Colt is present on the left side of the frame. Carr's "R.A.C." inspection mark is stamped on the left side of the frame and trigger guard (double stamped). Which is unique in that it is not the usual large pattern style commonly found on "Alaskan" revolvers. (writer has no explaination for the previous observation). Note that the serial number range for Model 1902 Revolvers purchased by the Ordnance Deparment is 43,401 to 48,097. It is likely that this revolver (43276) with a 5 1/2 inch barrel was a commerical revolver fitted with RAC inspected parts. Fitted with checkered grips embossed with a Rampant Colt at the top.
