Manufactured in 1914, this pistol is one of 1000 shipped to Fort Ethan Allen, Essex Junction, Vt. on March 7, 1914. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block 1897-1911 patent dates and address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, the left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" , and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" is marked on the right side of the slide. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number and the left side is marked with the circle "WGP" inspection mark of Major Walter G. Penfield. The barrel chamber is marked a "P" and "H" and the rear of the slide is marked with the letter "H" above the firing pin. Fixed sights, lanyard ring on the heel, unmarked two tone magazine with lanyard loop on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond around the screws.

Condition: Professionally restored to near mint condition. The magazine has also been restored and remains excellent. The grips are as new. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
