Manufactured in 1915, this pistol is one of 966 shipped to the Springfield Armory on October 9, 1915. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block 1897-1913 patent dates and address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, the left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" is marked on the right side of the slide. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number and the left side is marked with the circle "GHS" inspection mark of Major Gilbert H. Stewart. The barrel chamber is marked a "P" and "H" and the rear of the slide is marked with the letter "H" above the firing pin. Fixed sights, lanyard ring on the heel, unmarked two tone magazine with lanyard loop on the bottom removed and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond around the screws.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 75% original blue finish with some wear and thinning on the forward portion of the slide, high edge wear and a smooth gray patina on the grip straps and grip safety. The grips are very good with a few minor dents and bruises and overall crisp checkering. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
