Manufactured in 1914, this pistol is one of 300 shipped to the watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet, New York on February 6, 1914. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block 1897-1911 patent dates and address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, the left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" , and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" is marked on the right side of the slide. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number and the left side is marked with the circle "WGP" inspection mark of Major Walter G. Penfield. The barrel chamber is marked a "P" and "H" and the rear of the slide is marked with the letter "H" above the firing pin. Fixed sights, lanyard ring on the heel, unmarked two tone magazine with lanyard loop on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond pattern around the screws.

Condition: Very good. The pistol retains 30% original thin blue finish, mainly concentrated on the frame sides, with a mottled smooth brown patina on the balance. Overall there are a few minor dings and scratches. The grips are also good with minor to moderate wear, a few minor dings and dents, and crisp checkering. The grip screws on the left side show some minor marring. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
