Manufactured in 1918, as part of the final World War I contract run. Fixed sights, with the two block address/patent markings and Rampant Colt on the left side of the slide and "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY" on the right. "Eagle/ S5" inspected frame, with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the left and the serial number on the right. Correctly equipped with the Colt wide checkered spur hammer, smooth flat main spring housing, checkered slide stop and thumb safety and the Colt barrel which is marked with the single separated "P" and "H" proof on top of the chamber area. Checkered diamond pattern walnut grips with a Canadian "C in arrow" martial proof on the 2-tone lanyard ring magazine. Included with the pistol is a 1942 dated Boyt flap holster, a black leather magazine pouch and a pair of spare later production magazines

Condition: Fine as assembled, with 70% of the mixeed original blue finish (frame black army finish, slide earlier World War I blue), showing areas of gray patina, bright edge wear, traces of a brown patina on the slide, some scratches and handling marks. Grips are very good, with some small chips on the bottom of the panels and mild dents. The thumb safety is a parkerized replacement. Leather is good, with scuffing and verdigris buildup. Mechanically very good.
