According to the included factory letter, this revolver was one of 150 handed over to the U.S. Inspector on 21 October 1881. Fixed sights, with the one line block letter Hartford address on top of the barrel, and the three line patent markings on the frame next to "U.S.". Matching numbers are present on the barrel, cylinder, frame and grip straps. "D.F.C." David Clark inspection marks on the barrel, cylinder, frame and grip, and "G" stamp on the trigger guard. Smooth one piece grips, with cartouches on each side and "1881" on the left.

Condition: Refinished and restamped (back strap, trigger guard, cylinder and barrel), assembled, showing a mixed artificial brown and gray patina overall, with light scratches and scattered spotting. Grip is a modern re-marked replacement, with some dings and small chips. Mechanically very good.
