This was a standard target training rifle for the US army from late 1940s to early 1960s. The barrel is marked with a large
"STEVENS" in front of the two line address, followed by "MODEL 416" and " STEVENS circled X BARREL/CAL. 22 - LONG RIFLE" on the left at the rear. The left side of the receiver ring has the ordnance bomb proof and the left rear of the receiver is marked "U.S. PROPERTY." The top of the barrel and receiver have been drilled for scope mounts (not with rifle) and is equipped with the original micrometer rear target sight, hooded front sight, detachable magazine, trigger shoe, and mounted with a one-piece pistol grip stock with accessory rail, nylon sling and serrated steel buttplate.

Condition: Arsenal refurbished. The rifle retains 98% of the fading original parkerized finish with some minor handling marks overall. The stock is revarnished with a small minor gouge on the right side at the action and overall scattered minor dents and dings. The sling is good with some staining. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
