U.S. Army Model 1882 Remington-Lee Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet
Blade/ lug front sight and "RL" marked buckhorn rear sight. The barrel is marked "U.S." and "V/ P" near the breech and the frame is marked "THE LEE ARMS Co. BRIDGEPORT CONN. U.S.A./ PATENTED NOV. 4th 1879" on top of the left receiver rail and "E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION. N.Y. U.S.A. / SOLE MANUFACTURERS AND AGENTS / U.S." on the left side of the receiver. The U.S. Army "D.F.C." inspector mark appears on top of the receiver and on the bolt. Each barrel band is stamped with a "U". Smooth, straight grip stock with script "P" proof, "D.F.C." inspection mark behind the trigger guard and U.S. marked butt. With a U.S. 12 gauge socket bayonet.

Condition: Very fine, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing the start of a mixed brown and gray patina on the barrel, brighter gray along the high edges, and scattered spotting and handling marks. Stock is very good as refinished, with scattered dings and scratches. Minor oxidation is visible on the blade. Rear sight elevator is broken. Action is excellent.
