This is an example of a revolver that was manufactured for the U.S. Army as the Model 1894 and was delivered/inspected in 1896. Standard two line address/patent date (1884-1888) marking, "COLT. D.A. 38" on the left side and "P369 RAC" on the underside. The rear face of the cylinder is marked "RAC 369 P". "K" is present on the cylinder latch and crane with "RAC" on the left side of the frame. Matching numbers ("369") on the barrel, frame, crane, cylinder and cylinder latch. The butt is marked "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1894/No/60/369". Smooth walnut grip panels with the date "1896" over a clear script "HD" cartouche on the left panel, a barely visible script "RAC" cartouche on the right panel, and "RAC" on the bottom of the left panel.

Condition: Fine with 60% of the original blue finish remaining with muzzle and edge wear present with some flaking of the original finish with the balance showing a blue/grey patina with a few small areas of minor oxidation, a couple of light dings, and some light scratches present. The grips are also very good with some handling marks and light scratching with some dings on the lower right and left panels. The markings are legible with the exception of the cartouche on the right panel as noted above. Mechanically fine.
