This revolver was made for the U.S. Army as the Model 1894 and was delivered / inspected in 1896. Standard top barrel address/patent date (1884-1895) marking, "COLT. D.A. 38" on the left side and "P7409 RAC" on the underside. The rear face of the cylinder is marked "RAC 7409 P". "K" is present on the cylinder latch and crane with "RAC" on the left side of the frame. Matching numbers ("7409") on the barrel, frame, crane, cylinder and cylinder latch. The butt is marked "U.S. / ARMY / MODEL / 1894 / No / 67 / 409". Smooth grip panels with the date "1896" over a clear script "HD" cartouche on the left panel, a script "RAC" cartouche on the right panel, and "RAC" on the bottom of the left panel.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 80% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The grips are also very fine with some minor dings and scratches. The grip panel cartouches are clear on the very fine grips. Mechanically fine.
