Manufactured by the International Latex Corporation in the early 1950s, the K-1 partial pressure helmet was the first mass produced U.S. high altitude helmet and used in such aircraft as the B-47, B-36, F-80, F-100 and various X-planes. The U.S. Navy also used the K-1 helmet but on a limited basis. The green fiberglass outer shell has the correct large U.S. Air Force decal on the front. The hood/neck shirt has the International Latex Corporation K-1 label dated February 23, 1955. Complete with removable face plate made of molded plexiglass featuring tiny wires within for electrical heating, microphone, earphones and oxygen hose.

Condition: Very good. The fiberglass outer shell has a couple hairline cracks on the left side and a couple minor chips missing from the bottom edge at the back. The rubber lining to the hood/neck shows some hardening and some loss. Most of the U.S.A.F. decal remains and the face plate has some minor scratches but remains clear.
