Two-toned fleece lined leather aviator’s jacket in worn but overall good condition accompanied by typed note stating “The coat was given to my Dad, Bob Lytle (1925-2009) in 1939 by Moye Stephens, Jr. (1907-1995),pioneer aviator, who was a friend of my grandfather’s , Harold (Hal) Lytle. My father and grandfather lived in Hollywood, California at the time. My grandfather owned a garage where many famous stars andbusinessmen brought their cars for repair. Mr. Stephens flew the “Great Adventurer” Richard Halliburton (1900-1939) around the world in 1931. Mr. Stephens is pictured in the airplane with this coat on (copy ofpicture included) in Halliburton’s book, “The Flying Carpet”. Moye Stephens was one of the founders of the Northrop Corp., now Northrop-Grumman Corp.”; an interesting piece of aeronautical history. Est.: $250-$500.
