Featured in this lot are two 1930s Yellowstone National Park books. The first in this lot is a Union Pacific Rail Road advertising portfolio for Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks. The booklet originates from the 1930's and advertises specifically for "The Overland Route". The route was jointly operated by the Union pacific and Central Pacific Rail Roads. The booklet has gold filigree font, and depicts Old Faithful geyser on the cover. The book includes maps, wildlife, and landscape photography, as well as many pages worth of excerpts. Overall, the book shows good condition. It measures10" L x 6 13/16" W. The second book in this collection is a first edition titled, "Plants of Yellowstone National Park" by W. B. McDougall & Herma A. Baggley and printed by the United States Government Printing Office in Washington in 1936. The book was one of the first of its kind, giving the first botanical key and identification to Yellowstone's wildflowers and other plants. It features various black & white photos, diagrams and extensive write-ups throughout the book. The book shows good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of obvious damage. The book measures 9 1/8" L x 5 13/16" W x 3/8" D.
