Two U.S. Military Longarms -A) U.S. Springfield Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet
A) The left side of the receiver is marked "U.S. / MODEL 1898. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" with the serial number. It is fitted with the standard blade front sight and an adjustable rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards. The stock has a clear circled script "P" proofmark and the number "55" in the pistol grip area behind the trigger guard, with no other markings. Complete with a "US" and "1899" marked bayonet with sheath.

Condition: Fine. The rifle retains 70% original blue finish with the balance a smooth plum patina. The receiver retains some scattered traces of original case colors with the balance a smooth dark patina with some pin point pitting. The stock and handguard are fine with no visible cartouche remaining on left side of stock with some scattered minor dings. The bayonet is very good with the blade cleaned and some minor dents in the grip. The sheath has a smooth brown-gray patina with some minor pitting.

B) U.S. Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall Winder Musket
Manufactured from 1885 to 1923. Late model with a raised blade front sight and Lyman receiver peep sight adjustable for windage and elevation. Left side of barrel marked with the two line Winchester address and patent information and "22 SHORT" at the breech. Three line Winchester trademark on the upper tang and "US" over ordnance bomb marked behind the hammer. Smooth straight grip stock with steel carbine style buttplate, sling swivels and steel capped finger grooved forearm with single barrel band.

Condition: Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish remaining on the barrel with the balance a smooth brown patina with some very light spotting. The left side of the receiver has been cleaned with no blue remaining, the right side flaked to mostly a brown patina. The wood is very fine with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
