1) Unmarked sword, 19 3/4" blade with a cast metal hilt, a brown leather sheath and metal throat and tip. The grip is scaled, with textured decorations on the pommel and guard. 2) Ames Model 1833 foot artillery sword, 19 3/8" triple fuller blade, 1839 dated. Brass hilt, with "MS", "WS", "M.P.L" and "ORD." stamped on the guard, scaled grip, and eagle designs on the pommel. Black leather sheath, with brass throat and tip.

Condition: 1) Fair, with mild spotting and handling marks. Leather is cracked. 2) Very good with minor spotting and handling marks. Leather shows light cracks and scuffs. Hilt polished. Additional Information: Based on a re-evaluation of this Ames sword, we have determined that it is actually an old, very nicely done reproduction of an original sword.
