A) Manufacturer: Unknown Model: Flintlock Pistol
The pistol is without maker markings and is very crude in construction. The trigger guard, buttcap and barrel band are German silver. The full length stock has a large German silver overlay extending from the breech of the barrel to the buttcap and a silver overlay on the left stock flat. The stock has a flared butt and a silver false ramrod.

Poor. The barrel and action have a mottled gray patina with minor pitting. The silver is fine. The repaired stock is very good with a couple small hairline cracks and some minor handling marks. Action is good.
B) Manufacturer: Lamotte Model: Flintlock
This pistol features a two step barrel with cannon muzzle and deep relief chiseling present on the breech end. The engraving is a patriotic motif with gold background. There is a circle of eight small stars toward the front of the barrel. The barrel tang is also engraved with a gold background. The lock is engraved with a leaf and patriotic motif behind the hammer and marked "Talaben/Lamotte" ahead of the hammer. The hammer and frizzen are also lightly engraved. Mounted with a full silver mounted walnut stock with engraving on the left side plates, trigger guard and butt cap, carved forearm, checkered grip area in the back and silver thumb shield. Most likely made for Mediterranean trade.

Good. The barrel has been cleaned bright, with almost all of the gold in the engraving. The remaining metal has a smooth gray patina. All most all of the gold remains in the engraving on the lock. The silver has an aged patina. The stock is very good with a small crack on the left flat and a few minor dents. The action needs work, the hammer discharges to half cock when the trigger is pulled and then has to be pulled again to discharge from half cock. All markings and engraving are clear.
