A) Manufactured from 1890 to 1913. Single brass bead front sight on a solid concave matte rib, double triggers and tang safety. 3" chambers, choked extra full/extra full, with extractor. Right barrel is marked "L.C. SMITH unreadable" and the left with the Hunter Arms address. Casehardened action, including the break lever. "L.C. SMITH" marked on each side plate. Checkered splinter forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with serrated buttplate. Length of pull is 14 3/8".

Condition: Refinished with 60% blue finish on the barrels mixed with smooth brownish patina. There is some pin prick type pitting on top of the barrels near the breech end. The trigger guard is a mix of original blue finish and smooth brown and gray patina. The action and locks retains 60% vivid case colors with a smooth gray and silver gray on the balance. The wood has been sanded, refinished and the checkering re-cut, and remains very good with a number of light pressure dents on the left rear of the stock, overall a few minor dings and handling marks with very crisp checkering. The barrel markings are partially visible. Mechanically very good.

B) Manufactured from 1930 to 1946. Chokes measure improved modified/extra full, 2 3/4 inch chambers with extractor. Single bead sight on a matte concave solid barrel rib. Barrels have the Sterlingworth steel marking and Savage address, with "FOX STERLINGWORTH" on both sides of the zigzag line border engraved casehardened action. Double triggers and tang safety. Mounted with a checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a solid rubber J.C. Higgins recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 3/4".

Condition: Good. The barrels retain 30% thin original blue finish with a smooth plum patina on the balance. The trigger guard has a smooth brown patina. The action and trigger guard plate show strong original bright case colors in protected areas. Poor trigger plate fit. The wood has been freshened with a coat of varnish and remains very good with a few minor dings and handling marks. The recut/freshened checkering remains sharp. The forearm is a bit loose. The markings are clear. Mechanically very good.
