1) U.S. Ames Model 1906 light cavalry sabre, 34 5/8" double fuller blade with "U.S./J-C" on the left ricasso and the ordnance bomb and "1906" on the reverse. Brown painted 2-branch guard, with wire wrapped leather grip. With metal scabbard. 2) Kirschbaum (Solingen) 1840 model import heavy sabre, 35" double fuller blade, with makers marks on the ricasso, 2-branch guard, leather wrapped grip and metal scabbard.

Condition: 1) Good. Mild spotting on the blade, with flaking of the paint on the hilt and a mixed patina on the exposed area. Leather is flaking, with mixed brown on the sheath. 2) Very good, with some material loss on the grip and a mixed patina on the sheath. Some leather is lost from the grip, and the sheath has been polished.
