Manufactured circa 1880s with a total production of only a few thousand. The left barrel flat is marked "C.S. SHATTUCK HATFIELD MASS.", the left forward portion of the frame is marked "PAT NOV 4 1879" and the matching serial number is marked on the left side of the butt under the grips, and on the cylinder pivot bar. This revolver has a very unique and distinctive swing out cylinder, which swings to the right pivoting on a bar attached to the front of the frame. Nickel plated, with casehardened hammer and cylinder bar, blade front, frame notch rear sights and fitted with scallop border checkered hard rubber grips with "CS" monogram at the top.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus original nickel finish with a few areas of minor flaking. Overall there are a few minor scratches. The cylinder bar retains most of the original bright case colors, with most of the dull original case colors on the hammer. The grips are excellent. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.

B) Manufactured from 1863 to 1888, this is a four shot, .32 caliber pistol using a cluster of stationary barrels and a revolving firing pin. The left side barrel rib is marked "MANUFACTURED BY E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y." and "ELLIOT'S PATENTS MAY 29, 1860-OCT.1, 1861" on the right side rib. Matching serial number on the frame and barrels. German silver blade front and frame notched rear sights. The derringer is functionally double action only, with the concealed hammer operated entirely by the rear motion of the ring trigger. The grip section is contoured so the butt rests on the ring finger and it is fitted with smooth hard rubber grips. .

Condition: Very good. The barrels retain 30% original blue finish mainly in the protected areas, with a smooth mottled brown patina on the balance. The remaining metal surfaces have a gray patina with some minor pitting on the right side of the frame. The grips are good with a few chips on the bottom edges. The markings are clear and crisp. The trigger does not lock into the decocked position, otherwise the action functions properly.
