For your consideration is this Tsimshian Northwest Coast wood grain painted box circa early 1900's. This is a finely crafted box profusely illustrated with with tribal effigy including smaller woodland creatures such as raccoons and coyotes decorated with a beautiful wood grain painted design and includes a pyramid decoration adorning the sides of the box. The Tsimshian are an indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest Coast. Their communities are mostly in coastal British Columbia and far southern Alaska, around Terrace and Prince Rupert in British Columbia, and Alaska's Annette Islands. The condition of this box is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good museum quality display condition. The measurements of this wood grain painted box are 5" x 12 3/4" x 6 3/4".
