Triple-cased set for Colt percussion revolvers consisting of Navy, Pocket, and Root. Pictured on page 245, Colt’s Pocket ’49 and its Evolution by Jordan and Watt. The Navy is a USN marked iron-guard serial #61795 showing US marking on frame, large “U.S. N.” on butt and inspector’s marks “SCR” on right bottom grip. The metal surfaces show an old cleaning and drifting to patina. Markings slightly faint, grips good, action good,edges slightly rounded. The Root is a second model, 28 caliber, serial #15115, in good condition with light patina, traces of finish, good edges, very good grips with a slight burl grain. The 1849 Pocket is atwo-line New York iron guard, 5-shot, #151998, and also shows a light cleaning, some pitting and erosion, approx. 30% scene, good grips. All visible serial numbers on the three pistols are matching. The case ispartition style and shows some age and may have been dealer supplied at the time, but is not of a normal style and configurations associate with Colt.
