The finest pair of Remington percussion pistols known to collectors. This pair of Model 1858 Remington New Model Army revolvers are pictured on the cover of “The Guns of Remington”, sponsored by the RemingtonCollectors Society of America and the Cody Firearms Museum; they have been prominently displayed at the Cody Firearms Museum by the Slim Kohler Estate and original Museum display cards are included. The pistols areserial numbered 8 and 11 and show finest quality engraving by Louis D. Nimschke with his signature “N” almost hidden in the engraving just above each trigger at the edge of the trigger guard. The pair showNimschke’s finest work with deep-cut scrolls, arrows piercing ribbands on each side of the barrel along with detailed cross-hatching, background work, Union shields at the top of each backstrap along with mirror imageshowing anchor on right side of pistol #8 and left side of pistol #11.
