Dick Hallorann is a significant character in the film The Shining. He is the hotel cook and also has the "Shining," a psychic ability that allows him to see the past and the future. He is the only one who can help Danny Torrance, the young boy who also has the "shining", to escape the Overlook Hotel, which is haunted by evil spirits. Hallorann is a wise and kind man who is able to connect with Danny on a personal level. He understands what Danny is going through and is able to help him to control his gift. He also warns Danny about the dangers of the Overlook Hotel and tells him that he needs to be careful.

Stanley Kubrick gifted this very rare costume to Nick Frewin in 1989, who worked with Kubrick on most of his films in the prop department and as a designer for Kubrick for over twenty-five years.

This costume comes directly from the estate of Nick Frewin and is the only one known to be in existence. Comes with a letter of provenance from his estate.
