Collection of fourteen knives used in the 1952 classic movie production of, "The Iron Mistress", starring Alan Ladd and other productions. Most of these knives were featured in the May 2002 edition of Blade Magazine, Including actual steel blade knife designed by art director John Beckman and prop maker Arthur Rhoades. Other prop knives include retractable blades for "stabbing", rubber and plastic replicas. Also the knife hled by the blind blacksmith James Black, who said, "There's a little bit of Heaven and a little bit of Hell, in this knife." Magazine article included, along with photograph of McDonald Carrey as James Bowie, with aluminum bladed knife and fringed scabbard. Included with this lot. This knife was also used in later productions after 1950. Possibly the most important collection of movie used Bowie knives ever offered for sale at auction and an award winning display in itself.
