The Alamo (1960), Santa Anna Red Infantry Officers Costume
In "The Alamo" (1960), the invading Mexican Army of General Santa Anna was massive and well armed, and the great heroes inside the Alamo fought valiantly, but in the end, out of supplies were just no match. One of the symbolic visuals is the stunning uniforms of General Santa Anna's army compared to the homemade clothes of General Sam Houston's men. This is an actual hero screen worn Red Infantry Mexican Army outfit from The Alamo. It includes a Shako (a tall cylindrical military cap) with a small pompom that sits on a gold bowl made of black ribbed material with a diamond insignia on the front ; a red coatee tunic with blue shoulder roll with white trim and blue stand up collar; gray draw string pants; white leather strap and black leather cartridge box; white leather strap and black sword scabbard and bayonet scabbard and a metal sword with brass hilt and black plastic bayonet. The uniform is hero screen worn, but some of the accessories have been painstakingly reproduced at Western Costume Company and several other outlets to make the outfit complete. These reproductions were based on notes by costume designer Frank Beetson, Jr., as well as production stills. Comes with all documentation and an official COA.
