Manufactured in 1892. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.Co./HARTFORD CT.U.S.A.". and "45 COLT" on the left side. The left side of the frame is marked with the two-line three date patent markings followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap, and the loading gate is marked with the assembly number "272". Blue finish with casehardened hammer and frame, blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 6 to Roberts, Willis, Taylor & Co. Condition: Very good plus. The revolver retains 40% original blue finish on the barrel and ejector housing, and 30% thin original blue finish on the cylinder. The grip straps have a smooth mottled gray patina with strong original blue finish on top of the back strap, butt and protected areas of the trigger guard. The frame has a smooth mottled gray patina with a small amount of pin prick type pitting on the recoil shield. The grips are good with heavy wear, (most wear present on the right panel), with a small chip on the right heel and a few minor dings overall. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
