T.J. Albright Marked St. Louis Side Hammer Percussion Plains Rifle
The top barrel flat is marked "T.J. ALBRIGHT / St LOUIS" and the "mule ear" style side hammer lock is marked "C.N. JACKSON." Thomas John Albright is listed in St. Louis from 1842-1877. Thomas John Albright, Jr. is also listed working there from 1849-1866 (American Gunsmiths by Frank Sellers, page 3). Notched "V" rear sight, with detached German silver blade front sight. Brass trigger guard and crescent buttplate, with pewter forend cap and iron ramrod pipes. Complete with wooden ramrod.

Condition: Very good. The barrel has a mottled brown patina with a smooth dark patina on the action. There is some scattered minor spotting, with limited minor flash pitting. The brass has a mixed dark patina. The stock is very fine with a couple minor repairs in the toe and heel areas and a minor chip on the forearm with a couple small hairline cracks, along with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically needs minor work as the hammer does not cock.
