T. Hughes signed flintlock pistol, circa 1765-1775, with brass cannon barrel marked “Cork” (Ireland); measures 14” overall with an 8.25” barrel of approximately .75 caliber smooth bore of nearly blunderbuss size. Brass mask butt withsimple engraved mounts. Original flintlock and working action with correct hammer, frizzen and small parts; some well done wood restoration with still fairly sharp scroll carving around the tang. Just the type of arm carried by Officers andgentlemen at the time of the American Revolution. A Quality collectors grade pistol. (Antique). Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
