Produced from 1955 to 1964, the Model 58 was the first Remington semi-auto to move away from Browning's recoil-driven design, instead using gas operation. Brass front and nickel mid beads, with a Poly-Choke Deluxe adjustable choke fitted to the muzzle, with settings from "XTRA FULL" to "SLUG", standard markings, and the standard markings on the sides of the barrel. Both sides of the frame are roll engraved, with a pair of bird dogs flushing a group of 3 birds in a grassland scene on the left, and a group of three ducks in flight over a lakeside on the right. The front of the forearm and the underside of the receiver bear the "SC" grade mark. Fitted with an extra fancy walnut stock, with the adjustable gas port integrated into the magazine cap, fine areas of checkering on the beavertail forearm and pistol grip, a grip cap with a scene of a hunting dog clenching a pheasant in it's teeth, 13 inch pull, and a vented Pachmayr recoil pad.
