Stunning and unusual pair of Horsemen size European pistols originally made in the 18th-century in flintlock then converted to percussion in the 19th century and finely cased with deluxe accessories andornamentation’s. The pair measure 19 ¼” overall with 12” barrels of approximately .54 caliber smoothbore. The pistols show fine Turkish style Damascus patterned steel barrels with silver overlays., There is aGold signature at center in Arabic writing and small red gemstone inlaid in central portion among the silver raised inlay. The pistols were finely converted from flint to percussion and show a chiseled hammer withlion head. The locks are finally engraved and gold inlaid. The pistols were restocked at time of conversion in fine European walnut with silver studs and fancy checkering. The mounts are nicely engraved and inlaid tomatch and the butt Is chiseled in a grotesque face with case hardened finish on each butt. The locks, trigger guards and breeches are French gray or satin finished and the condition is fine to excellent with bright
