Stoeger Three-Line American Eagle Luger, #559V, .30 Luger cal., 3-3/4'' barrel, blue finish with straw small parts, checkered walnut grips, with one tin-plated magazine with unmarked walnut base. American eagle over chamber, DWM to toggle link, right side marked ''Germany'', ''A.F. Stoeger Inc/New York.'' to upper receiver; frame rail marked ''Genuine Luger - Registered U.S. Patent Office.'' Upper portion of thumb safety area marked ''Safe'', extractor marked ''Loaded''. Mauser assembled these pistols using parts that came from DWM in 1930. This pistol shows a faint ''(crown)/N'' proofmark to left side of upper receiver just forward of sideplate. Pictured on page 283 of the book, ''Weimar and Early Nazi Lugers'', by Jan C. Still, when it was in the Don Hallock collection. Condition is fine to near excellent retaining approx. 96% thinning and toning blue, with light thinning and toning to front and backstrap. Highpoints of sideplate and part of safety cove show possible touchup. Grips with mild general flattening. Action remains crisp, bore is fine. Est.: $4,500-$7,000. (C&R/PPT)
