Stevens model 45 falling block single-shot rifle, .38-55 caliber, 34” half-round half-octagon heavy-weight barrel, double-set triggers, schutzen style stock with raised cheekpiece, select checkered wood, fullschutzen iron-type buttplate. Serial #9448. The barrel is mounted with blocks for target scope which are each secured by two screws tapped into barrel. The front sight is a hooded target type. The bottom of the barrelshows a plug where it would have had an extension rest at one time. The barrel shows 70-80% original blue, with some losses and discoloration towards the muzzle on the bottom side. The frame shows 50-70% toningand aging case color, the stock is a select grain and is at least very good plus. The action is good, bore is excellent and still bright.
