Stevens-Pope single-shot falling block rifle on 44-1/2 action, .32-40 caliber, heavy octagon barrel measuring 30-1/2”, nearly 1-1/4” cross flats, at least #4. Action #10769. Barrel #1940. The rifle shows selctburl walnut stocks, nicely factory checkered with schutzen butt, stock, and buttplate, and high rise cheek piece. Double-set triggers, adjustable veneer tang sight, hooded target front sight, scope blocks secured by tapscrews in barrel and there is a dove-tail through the barrel address with a plug which originally housed a rear sight. The frame shows simple factory type scroll engraving of light coverage. The condition is very goodplus, the barrel shows 75-85% toning blue finish with some minor erosion, pinprick pitting. The frame shows 30-40% case hardening drifting to silver with an even patina. The stocks are very good plus withgood crisp checkering. The stocks show a good burl wood grain.
