Stevens Ideal target rifle, 38/55 caliber 30” heavy half round- half octagon barrel finely etched and engraved, double set triggers, checkered wood target type stock with Swiss butt, serial # 4622. The rifle is mountedwith a venier type tang sight and a target style front sight. The serial numbers match. The barrel retains 50-70% blue, frame has drifted to a light gray. The stocks are good to very good with fairly sharp checkering,some mars, dings, slight scratches and just normal use. The action is tight, the bore is at least very good and may clean to excellent and is still bright. The frame shows good quality etching with a stag onleft and dog on right and is the type unique to Stevens in this period. Est.; $2,500-$5,000.
