Thomas (Tommy) Singer (born 1940 - May 31, 2014)
He is one of the most regarded silversmiths in Navajo history having created the ‘CHIP INLAY’ an intricate use of turquoise and coral chips integrated in to the silver work. This method made Mr. Singer famous world around in the 60’s. He is known for his overlay work, storyteller pieces, rug patterns and traditional motifs.
Sterling silver egg shaped reversible/double sided pendant, has mosaic inlay kachina dancer on each side. Inlay design is done with multiple stone, including turquoise, mother-of-pearl, coral, jet and/or Onyx. Pendant measures 39 mm x 32 mm without bail, weighs 22 g. Pendant is not signed or stamped Sterling. NOTE: we believe the artist is Bev. Etsate as it has the same construction, weight and feel of items 72MK, 73MK & 74MK, piece is not stamped with sterling mark, but has been tested and is silver
