Starr single-action army converted to .44 centerfire caliber, blue finish, wood grips, serial #24268. Top of frame is engraved in old-style block letters “Elk Horn Ranch”. With associated antique gold scale which hasaccompanied it for several decades. This exact army conversion with gold scale was purchased through James Julia auctions approx. 12 years ago and will be pictured in one of their catalogs. The revolver showsapprox. 75-85% of a darkened period blue finish, which was refinished at time of conversion. The metal surfaces show some light to moderate pitting and erosion. The markings are sharp, the edges are fair togood, the grips are good with some dings, mars, scratches. The butt of the pistol shows the mark 11XXXXX. The action is good, the bore very good. The engraving shows age and we believe it to be of the period, but wehave no documentation to absolutely authenticate.
