Starr .52 caliber Civil War era percussion carbine in very good condition, serial #17957. The barrel shows 20-40% original blue drifting to patina, some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting, Good sharp barreladdress, frame shows considerable case hardening drifting to silvery grey with some faint colors mixed in. The stocks are good with minor scratches, mars, etc. There is soldier ID markings on the back of the forend near action which appear to be “J 1.7”. There is a small inspector’s initials near buttplate which appear to be “LAB” and other small “B” inspections. The bore is bright with one area of dirt or erosion half-waydown that may clean.
