Stafford .22 caliber single shot derringer showing original silver and gold finish with pearl grips remaining in near fine original condition, serial number 528. The frame also contains most of its original gold gilt and where the gold has lifted brass is drifting to a mellow patina. The hammer and trigger show most of their original bright fire blue as does the release latch. The original pearl grips are also fine to near excellent. The derringer is engraved in the classic New York style scrolls of the type attributed to the shop of L. D. Nimschke. A collectors quality cartridge derringer. Provenance from The John & Gretchen Bittaglia Collection. Est.: $2,500-$5,000.
