Springfield model 1903 Mark 1, .30-06 caliber bolt-action military issue rifle, cut for Pedersen device and arsenal upgraded and refinished for WWII. Serial #1196067. The rifle shows a Sedgley-marked 1943-dated barrel with USMC markings. The action has been refinished over pitting by the arsenal. The barrel and action show most of their parkerized finish. The stock also replaced with WWII upgrades including forend. The stock shows “P” proof behind trigger guard and several small inspector’s marks behind floorplate. The rifle shows a WWI type rear sight. The action is good, the bore is excellent. Right side of stock is marked UUU 67 in large arsenal type wood stamps. The Marine Corps did exceptionally well with left-over and reworked 2nd class arms in the pacific theater. Est: $400 - $800
