Springfield model 1888 trapdoor rifle with ramrod bayonet. All features as standard on this issue. Serial #532641. The buttplate shows issue numbers “32” over “134”. The stock shows stampings “34” and “32”, and ismarked “34th Sep. Co”. The metal surfaces show a blue brown patina finish with approx. 50% blue remaining, the markings are good, there is some light scattered erosion and pinprick pitting, but metal surfacesgenerally good to very good. The stock is also good to very good with clearly visible “SVW 1891” cartouche, some small losses around the ramrod channel, minor dings, mars, scratches consistent with military use.Correct small parts and sights are retained. The action is good, markings are good, bore is very good plus to near fine and still bright. Est: $700 - $1,400
