Springfield model 1884 carbine .45-.70 caliber serial number 34103X (last number not legible) in very good plus original condition showing considerable original blue and case hardened finish. The barrel shows50% to 70% original bright blue with some losses on the edges and areas where the finish is lost are going to a patina with some scattered erosion, slight scratches and minor pitting. The lock shows 50% to 70%dulling original blue, the trigger guard shows 50% to 70% bright blue that is drifting, the butt plate shows 50% to 70% toning blue finish. The breech block shows 1873 date and approximately 75% to 85%original bright case hardened colors. The stock is in near fine condition with sharp S.V. W 1886 cartouche and the stock shows just some minor small marks and handling with good P proof just behind the trigger guard. The original small parts are retained and the Buffington type rear sight shows the letter C. The action is tight and the bore is very good plus and may clean to fine.
