Springfield model 1868 .50-70 caliber rifle with bayonet, scabbard, sling, and cleaning rod. Serial #44270. The gun remains in very good original condition showing most of its original bright on barrel, action and breechshow quenched and case hardened colors just slightly aging. The stocks are very good plus with a few dings, mars, dents, and show four cartouches on left side of stock. The action is tight, the bore near excellent. The sling is good. The scabbard for bayonet is very good with buff leather hangar. A very nice and complete early Indian Wars Springfield. Est: $900 - $1,800
