Springfield model 1863 .58 caliber rifled musket, 3-band, with bayonet, sling, ramrod, and sling. Dated 1864. The musket remains in very good plus original condition showing most of its original bright finish on barreland bands, some scattered light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The lock and hammer show 50% dulling case hardening drifting to patina. The markings are sharp on the lock and bolster with great eagles. Thetrigger and rear sight show original blue which is thinning. Good to very good with a couple of dings and mars, scratches, a couple of small chips and more military storage wear than use. Sling is good, scabbard andbayonet are very good plus and near fine with correct brass tip to scabbard. The stock shows two sharp cartouches. The action is good, bore near excellent. A very good Civil War Springfield with exceptional accessories. Est: $2,000 - $4,000
