Springfield model 1855, .58 caliber percussion rifle with Maynard tape primer device, steel forend, brass forend cap, three-band variation with bayonet, scabbard, ramrod. The rifle shows a lightly cleaned toarsenal bright finish with some scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting in the area of the breech and halfway down the barrel. The stocks are very good plus with some minor losses in the ramrodchannel, good cartouche. The bayonet and scabbard is very good, original sling is also very good plus. There is an arsenal type “5” marked in right center of buttstock. The lock shows excellent eagle and Springfieldmarkings. There is a small chip at the rear of the lock. The sight shows most of the original finish. The rifle is very good plus overall. Est: $3,000 - $6,000
