Spencer Repeating Carbine 52 cal rim fire, 22” barrel no magazine cutoff, serial #49679. The stock shows inspectors mark “CGC” stamped on top of comb by butt plate. The carbine has a arsenal type re-finish andshows approx. 60-70% arsenal colors on lock plate and frame with some very vivid rainbow colors. The address on top of frame is light. The barrel shows traces of blue going to brown patina with some light to slightlyheavy pitting. The stocks are near fine with some minor dents and scratches. The butt plate shows 30-50% case hardening with some minor pitting. The action is good, the bore is good other than a dark area which may be a ring starting. Probably returned to the arsenal at the end of the Civil War and re-issued in the Indian Wars. Est.;$2,000-$4,000.
